We are not a dairy - We are ADGA certified Nigerian Dwarf goat owners and lovers. We currently have 9 full grown Nigerian Dwarf Goats as a part of our family! We regard our herd as family members rather than mere livestock. We pride ourselves on the ethical breeding of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats as well as homesteading & environmental education.

We take great care in all aspects of our herd, from beginning of life, to end. Starting with choosing the best parents for temperament and overall health for each of our kids. We are on hand during each stage of pregnancy. By prioritizing the animals well-being has led to our continued success with healthy mamas and kids.

During Birthing Season

Someone is always watching for our pregnant mamas to go into labor, and we are with them throughout the whole birthing process from start to finish. Sometimes this means getting hands on when mama needs help, and sometimes it just means cheering her on while nature does its work. After each birth, we make sure each baby (and mama!) is healthy and give each new tribe their own private space, to recuperate in peace.

We test each animal annually for CAE and Johnes to ensure the health of our entire herd. Each goat is vaccinated and great care is taken in prevention of common and preventable baby diseases.By conducting these tests we are able to uphold a sustainable & nurturing environment for our herd, ensuring their happiness & well-being.

Our mamas are allowed to feed their babies naturally, unless the health of the baby needs intervention. It’s wonderful that mamas with too much milk can help out our mamas who do not have enough.

The Sourcing of Milk for our Goat Soap

When creating our luxurious and moisturizing goat milk soaps we pride ourselves on the fact we don't pull kids prematurely to obtain the milk. It's with love and care we are able to give our moms the ability to feed their kids and continue to share with my family as well. Milk for our goat soap is only gathered once babies are comfortably switching to solid food, on a kid to kid basis. Everyone grows at different rates, and we never process milk that is needed for babies. We currently only use our goat milk for goat soaps. Supply of soap is sometimes limited as we only use what we can, prioritizing our herds health & needs over production.

Goat Yoga

We also offer baby goat yoga in the springtime, as a means of properly socializing and creating a smooth transition for the young goats before they go to their permanent, loving homes. As well as providing much needed therapy to the public. The therapy aspect of it goes both ways. Simply being near the goats & petting them produces an automatic relaxation response in humans. As well as Lifting your spirits, lessening feelings of sadness, grief & enhancing communication. Not to mention they are just plain adorable. We choose to only host goat yoga during the spring, because we believe full size goats are not always the best for yoga. Goats love to head butt, & jump. As they grow into full sized goats (40-75lbs) it can become more unsafe for the goats & the people to have such a heavy animal jumping on them or head butting them. We also strive to keep the classes family friendly. Hosting with baby goats allows us to provide a safe & nurturing environment for both the goats & the students joining class.

What happens after Goat Yoga & when the babies are ready for their new homes?

As much as we wish that we could keep each new herd yearly, we are a small family homestead. When our babies are ready to continue into our homes as well as show homes to spread the Joy of having goats, we carefully vet our newest farm members. We love spreading the joy and therapy of goats across established as well as new homesteaders and farmers. That being said, we do take into consideration where our beloved new family members are going. Each family leaves little legs ranch with education and empathy for their newest addition. We vet each new goat parent in person & make sure they are going to the best homes possible!

Our entire herd lives on property until new kids are 12 weeks old, at which time these ADGA babies are allowed to be picked up, or join our own little herd. We never take babies away from their mothers too early, and they only leave the property when we are 100% certain they are healthy, happy goats. Some of our goats go on to pet homes, & some go on to be top tier show goats. We meet each buyer in person and have them pick out their babies in person so they can bond and see each one's personality in person.

None are ever sold at auction or for consumption.

On the rare occasions that our babies can no longer be homed with their new families we will happily take them back and highly encourage our patrons to bring them back to us if such an occasion arises. We understand that life happens, and want to ensure the well being of all our animals. Our herd grows a little every year and as each season passes we now have goats in "retirement" who will spend the rest of their days here on the farm, watching new kids be born and enjoying the good life.

Proceeds from sales of goat soaps, baby goat yoga go to help supply a nourishing and mentally stimulating home to our goats throughout the year.
