Shannon Chalmers

Shannon Founded Denver Yoga Social on the basis of bringing yoga directly to the community. Pairing with local Businesses to bring you more than a yoga class, but an experience. A place you can go and meet new people, a place we can go to to enjoy our community & unite with others.

Shannon came to yoga from a Ballet & contemporary dance backround. In 2016 She completed her first RYT Teacher Training - from there she has taught from Boston - > Milwaukee - > Denver. She believes that every body type is a yoga body. Shannons classes are fun & upbeat. Easily accessible for the beginning yogi, with options that will even challenge some of the more advanced yogi.

Marco DiFerreira
Teacher

Marco was exposed to yoga at a very early age when his dad was trying to quit smoking and look him along. Since then, yoga has helped him to be more in touch with the world and the idea of always evolving to discover the joys and mysteries of life.
Through the movements and practice of yoga, Marco was able to experience the healing
powers of yoga, which allowed him to avoid back, neck and knee surgery due to injuries.
Being also a musician, he brings his artistic passion to the ancient practice.
Marco believes that yoga is much more than uniting mind, soul and body. Yoga is a lifestyle to be practiced and learned on and off the mat. It keeps us present in the moment every time we remember to breathe.
As we advance in our yoga practice, we increase our sense of community, compassion, inner peace and joy. By incorporating his own live music in class during shavasana, Marco strives to inspire his
students and infuse their practice with creative energy.

Marc Berggren
Teacher
Marc found yoga through one powerful image, a radiant smile that spoke, "I love yoga. You will love yoga." While working for a Denver area athletic club, Marc would be the first one to open the doors for those early morning practitioners who were ready and rearing for sunrise yoga. He was so taken by their smiling splendor that he said, "Maybe I should check this yoga thing out." - and so began a lifelong love affair. It was through this sequence of smiles where he discovered the timeless wisdom in a tradition that has lasted some 5,000 years. An avid practitioner since 2005, he has enjoyed practicing a wide range of Yogic philosophies including Ashtanga, Dharma, Iyengar, and Forrest Yoga. He earned is 200hr RYT certification in 2012 from Pranava Yoga Center based in Colorado Springs. Laughter enlivens the mind and relaxes the body, cultivating a sense of joy/ fun within the practice. This is an integral part of his teachings.
Classes are light-hearted and uplifting, expect to leave refreshed, rejuvenated, and revitalized; your smile will tell the whole story.

Laura Sundstrom
Teacher

Laura took her first yoga class 20 years ago for the physical benefits and has been practicing on and off since then. As she started to deepen her yoga practice, she started to be drawn more intently to the mindfulness and spiritual aspects of yoga. Eventually she saw that her practice "on the mat" was helping her heal in other areas of her life and helping to point her towards her purpose. Laura pursued her 200hr yoga teacher training as a way to spread the light and healing she has found through yoga with others. Through her classes, Laura facilitates self-discovery through a deeper connection to body, mind, and spirit.
